How It Works

The AM-2133M and most other ultralight collapsible masts work the same way. Each section is tapered to be slightly larger in diameter at the bottom than at the top. When a similar but smaller tube is inserted, it slides through easily until its large end binds against the small end of the tube below. A special coating applied to the mating ends provides extra grip for friction-locking tubes together.

INSTALLATION TIPS

• Always use care when securing light-weight fiberglass masts to supporting structures. Avoid using rigid metal clamps that could crush and damage sections. Our warranty does not cover damage from improper mounting.
• Always make sure the base of the mast is secured against “kicking out” before attempting to raise.

Important Warning: To ensure user safety and maximum load handling capability, telescoping masts must be guyed. Even a well-balanced load may tumble in a wind gust or inadvertent tug on the mast if left un-guyed!
